Verity King was a former Year 9 student at Waterloo Road High School and the daughter of deputy head Lindon King and his wife Hannah. She shows Izzy Charles around on her first day and tells her how lucky she is that her parents love each other so much, as she believes her own parents will be divorcing soon.

She also makes friends with Zayne Jackson, and the two show up at Neil Guthrie's garden to watch Dwayne and Tonya digging up the garden when they believe Neil to have buried his wife there.

In Series 12, Verity overhears Lindon and Kim talking about when they slept together in the previous series, and runs off upset, before threatening to tell Hannah.

Verity is last seen when Dwayne and Zayne's mother Lisa comes into school and Verity asks who she is, and Zayne doesn't know. After this, Verity is not seen again, and her sudden disappearance is never explained.
