Selina Wilson was the Head of Education at West Greenock Council, who led the campaign for Waterloo Road Comprehensive School to be closed and merged with Havelock High at the end of Series 10.
Selina is first seen inspecting Waterloo Road alongside LEA managing inspector Victor Marsland in Series 10 Episode 18. Headteacher Vaughan Fitzgerald had been tipped off about the impending surprise inspection by George Windsor, who said he got the information from a reliable source. It soon became apparent that the source was Selina, when Selina and George bumped into each other in front of Vaughan and Selina told Vaughan that she and George had met through a mutual friend a few weeks earlier.
Selina is next seen in Series 10 Episode 19 attending an anti-merger press conference Sonya Donnegan was giving about her 'cancer' after being called by George. Christine Mulgrew immediately becomes suspicious of George and Selina's relationship, given Selina's senior pro-merger status.
Christine's suspicions are confirmed when a conversation between George and Selina reveals that George is in line for a head of department role at Havelock High post-merger, and George describes himself as a 'mole in the enemy camp', while the two are looking at a model of 'The Wilson Wing' (originally to be called 'The Waterloo Wing' before it was renamed after Selina instead), an artist's impression of what Havelock High would look like after it is redeveloped and expanded to accommodate the influx of Waterloo Road students post-merger.
Alarm bells are set ringing when Darren Hughes calls the phone number of the architecture company advertised on the model, and discovers that the architects are no longer working on the project and that the project 'shouldn't even go ahead'. George overhears Guy Braxton telling Steph Norton that he had called the council to ask who the new architects are, only to be told that there are none. When Steph questions Selina about this, Selina attempts to fob her off by offering to put a word in for her getting a job at the council, but Steph says that her daughter Carrie's education comes first.
When Selina hosts a pro-merger presentation at Waterloo Road, Steph, urged on by Guy, stands up and questions her again about the architects in front of everyone. She again fobs Steph off, but the cracks are starting to show. After the pupils win over the audience with impassioned pro-Waterloo Road speeches, Selina and George beat a hasty retreat to Selina's car, where George betrays her by recording her on his phone confessing that the land at Havelock is sinking and unsuitable for being built on, and that classes would be taught in portacabins there for years, and that the council are only merging the schools because they want to sell the land Waterloo Road is on simply because they need the money to pay off their debts.
After George revealed he had recorded the entire conversation, Selina heads back inside the school with her tail between her legs to announce that the merger will not be going ahead, claiming that the "pupils persuaded us". She then leaves and is not seen again.
