Mr Patel appeared on Waterloo Road in Series 2.

Mr Patel was the owner of a shop in Rochdale. After Lewis Seddon was excluded for sexually harassing Kim Campbell, he terrorised the area with Helmsley and their gang of chavs. The gang swaggered into Mr Patel's store, demanding Vodka, and like any shop owner, Mr Patel asked for identification. Lewis accused Mr Patel of discriminating "because I'm white", and slaps him "for being a racialist" after the gang steals some alcohol.

Later on, Mr Patel drove to Waterloo Road. He unloaded his stock from his van and violently threw all of it at the students. He was not seen on the show again.

Behind the scenes[]

Mr Patel's actor, Dennis Conlon, died on 28 April 2023.

  • "You can't understand anything!" (final line)
