Mark Moran was the older brother of Year 10 student Craig Moran. The two of them live on a farm which has started to fall apart since their father's death, despite Mark's best efforts.
Craig believes they should sell the farm, but Mark is adamant that they should keep it going for their father.
Despite cancelling the school farm trip, Mark is shocked when Waterloo Road staff and pupils turn up at the farm anyway. It turns out that Craig deliberately didn't give Ruby Fry the letter cancelling the trip as he wanted them to see the state the farm was in.
With persuasion from Steph Haydock, Mark agrees to give the staff and students a brief tour of the farm.
After a disastrous farm trip which ends with Sambuca Kelly stealing a piglet and Josh Stevenson getting acid in his eyes, Mark is furious with Craig, but Ruby comes to his aid. Craig tells Mark that he hates spending so much time working on the farm and that his school work is struggling as a result.
Mark agrees to put less work on Craig. The two of them aren't seen again.
