Marion James is the mother of Lindsay and Emily James. She covered Lindsay for murdering her husband Tony. She was heard shouting at her husband and telling her kids to quickly go to school on the day that Tony got murdered. On the day of the trial, Marion tries to cover for Lindsay but it all goes pear shaped as Lindsay breaks down in tears in front of the court. She eventually fesses up and gets arrested while Marion is free to go. She is very upset but she knows that Lindsay did it.
When Lindsay's prison sentence ends, she attempts to cover up the fact that Lindsay has run away and will not be returning home in an attempt to not spoil Emily's excitement, however it leads to Emily and her mum arguing because of it.
