Malcolm Scates (1958 - 6 September 2016) was an English actor who portrayed Ralph Mellor in Series 4 of Waterloo Road.
Career[]
Outside of Waterloo Road, Scates's other credits include Brush Strokes, Bread, Prime Suspect, Fat Friends, Bad Girls, Casualty, Strictly Confidential, Silent Witness, Shameless, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Not Going Out and The Politician's Husband, as well as the films Breathtaking, The Wolfman and The Inbetweeners Movie.
Personal life[]
In 1993, Scates married the actress Susan Cookson, who appeared in Waterloo Road as Maria Lucas in Series 6. The couple have two children together.
Scates died from a brain tumour on 6 September 2016 at the age of 58.
