Jade joins the school at the start of series 8 after she and her boyfriend have been on the run from London and hiding out in the woods after he absconded from his juvenile detention centre. She wants her chance to get a decent education, but the new life she envisaged for her boyfriend Drew may not be as easy to achieve as she thinks. Michael advises her to get checked out from the school nurse. There, she is astonished to discover she is pregnant with Drew's baby!
Later she put the baby up for adoption and got interest from who she thought were the perfect couple, however she later found out that the perfect couple weren't so perfect after all. When she found out that they were divorced, she was confused because they had lied to her. Her water broke during school and at the time was with Scout and Mr Budgen. When she was at hospital, she decided to allow the baby to go for adoption because she wanted the baby to have the upbringing she didn't have.
