Hassan Bukhari was the adoptive father of Abdul Bukhari, appearing in the second half of Series 10. Hassan kept the truth about the adoption from Abdul until Abdul was 15.
Hassan is the owner of a bicycle shop called "Bike Bar", and he is first seen helping Vaughan Fitzgerald set up Waterloo Road's new bike bank in Series 10 Episode 12.
In Episode 14, Hassan is shown to be part of the PTA, and in Episode 15 he is among the PTA members who are given a tour of Havelock High School. Hassan is shown to be against the merger of Waterloo Road with Havelock.
In Episode 16, Hassan reveals to Abdul that he adopted him from an orphanage in Pakistan, and in Episode 17 it is revealed that the adoption was not entirely legal - Hassan had always wanted a child, and had paid for the adoption of Abdul before leaving Pakistan and moving to the United Kingdom. The police find out after taking Abdul's details following Abdul breaking into Hassan's shop to look for his birth certificate, and PC Ronnie Fairchild reveals to Hassan that Abdul's birth mother is actually alive and has been looking for Abdul all these years, and arrests Hassan for theft of a child.
After meeting his birth mother Yasmeen and learning about his biological family back in Pakistan, Abdul ultimately decides to continue living with Hassan after getting over his initial anger at the discovery of his adoption.
Hassan is last seen in Episode 20 asking Selina Wilson from the council about the expansion of Havelock that was supposedly going to take place to accommodate the influx of Waterloo Road students post-merger, had the merger gone ahead.

- "Fix bayonets, we're heading into enemy territory!"
- "OK. Let's show them where they can shove their merger."
- Hassan: "I don't know! I was scared that I'd lose you too if you knew. You are the most important thing in my life."
- Abdul: "But what if I want to find out who my real parents are? Huh?"
- Hassan: "It was an orphanage."
- "There might be some trouble. I'm not having them take you away. I'll do anything to stop that from happening. So I was thinking, maybe we should go away for a bit."
- Hassan: "But you've got the wrong boy - he was an orphan! They told us his parents were dead, we paid the fee, and we got ourselves a beautiful baby boy-"
- Abdul: "You bought me?"
- Hassan: "It was for the paperwork!"
- Abdul: "So my mum sold me?"
- Hassan: "No, she was dead - is dead!"
- Hassan: "I just want to say sorry. What you went through musta been awful. We never knew that Abdul wasn't an orphan."

- Hassan: "With respect, you know next to nothing about this lady."
- Abdul: "At least she hasn't been lying to me for 15 years!"
- "Hey, Abdul. We had some laughs, didn't we? Us against the world, eh?
- "Presumably the new build won't be finished by the beginning of next term. So what will there be in the meantime?" (final line)
