Janeece Kylie Marie Bryant first appeared on Waterloo Road as a cheeky pupil with a big heart. During her time as student at Waterloo Road she was forever getting herself into trouble, usually accompanied by her best friend Maxine Barlow and good friends Chlo Grainger and Donte Charles. During her final year of high school she also had a brief relationship with fellow pupil Bolton Smilie. Janeece returned to Waterloo Road a year later, pregnant and hoping to become the new school secretary. She later gave birth to her daughter Cheryl Bryant, whom she sometimes had difficulty caring for. She was, however, always supported by her best friend Daniel Chalk and good friends Ruby Fry and Maggie Croft. Janeece left Waterloo Road for Ibiza when she realised she had to re-evaluate her life after her carelessness caused young Cheryl to be injured.

Series 1

Janeece is first introduced as a mouthy pupil who is eager for revenge on Donte Charles for the death of Adam Deardon. Together with Adam's sister, Yasmin, and another pupil Hadleigh Flynn, they terrorise Donte, trying to force him to admit responsibility for Adam's death. They lock Donte in a storage room and Hadleigh holds him at knife point. It is only when Kim Campbell intervenes that they stop bullying Donte.

When Andrew Treneman introduces a house system to Waterloo Road, Janeece is proud to be elected head of the Canary house and is determined to do whatever it takes to win as many house points as possible. When rival captain, Lewis Seddon, and his house, the Kingfishers, begin to top the league tables by cheating with their coursework, Janeece is quick to implement the same system into the Canary house. When they are both discovered by Kim Campbell, their titles as house captains are taken away, much to Janeece's disappointment.

When a visit from the Local Education Authority occurs, headmaster Jack Rimmer organises for the school's most disruptive pupils to go on a school trip to the museum. Janeece complains at first about having to go but when she is there she really enjoys herself. She finds herself particularly interested in the dinosaurs and attempts to take a replica dinosaur tooth as a souvenir. However, she is caught and forced to give it back and apologise, much to her dismay. She later explains to Andrew Treneman that she only took the tooth because she had never been to a place like this before and she was so fascinated by the dinosaurs. Andrew Treneman then buys her a book about dinosaurs and encourages her to learn more about them. This leads Janeece to become very passionate about dinosaurs.

Series 2

In Series 2, she seems to be around Maxine Barlow and others.

Janeece adopted a more positive attitude to her studies after her failing her exams and continued to grow close to Andrew Treneman. On one occasion, he confiscated her mobile phone from her, much to her annoyance. Janeece stole her phone back from Andrew but when her friend Donte purposely called her whilst she was stood next to Andrew as a joke, he took it back. Janeece, realising that she needed to test herself allowed him to keep the phone when he offered to return it, showing how she had grown since her first appearance. However, she still got into mischief with her new partner in crime Maxine Barlow and the two girls got into serious trouble for burning books that promoted evolution rather than the creationist ideals that they briefly adopted.

Series 3

There was an incident in Episode 3 where Janeece and Maxine scammed money off local residents to pay for the Girls Football Kit. They sold them tickets for a fake school raffle, which they didn't expect the locals to actually check up on. In the middle of the football match, a group of people who bought tickets turn up at the school for the raffle. Janeece and Maxine try to run away but are caught by Eddie Lawson. They are both given lunchtime detentions for a month.

In Episode 13, Janeece has work experience at a local museum but it isn't all she thinks it will be. She then finds herself working at a care home instead, and after bonding with one of the old ladies, discovers a possible new job interest she hadn't thought about before. Her boss was seen as abrasive and quite mean towards her, but that didn't stop Janeece from having fun. She was dancing with the old lady when the lady collapsed and injured her head. The boss of the care home seemed impressed by Janeece.

In Episode 16, she has a small relationship with a fake supply teacher, Wilson Bingham, who was taking over for the suspended Jasmine Koreshi. Wilson took her to a hotel room in Manchester and had sex with her and later drove off with her clothes. He fled to his caravan where he was found by Tom Clarkson and arrested.

She was also there when Earl started to threaten Maxine with a gun. She ran outside and rung the police. She tried to wrestle the gun from Earl, but ended up being thrown on the sofa and watched helplessly as Earl shot Maxine in the stomach. She then stays with Maxine, begging her to stay awake until the police come. Unfortunately, she dies before they do. She spoke with a counsellor, named Charlotte Monk, in an attempt to get over Maxine's death. Janeece briefly dated Bolton Smilie but broke up after she got breast implants, in an attempt to become a model after meeting Sarah-Leanne, a famous model who she met on careers day.
