Evie Prior (real name Alycia Cross) was a student at Waterloo Road who appeared in Series 7 Episode 4.

Eight years before her arrival at Waterloo Road, Alycia murdered her five-year-old cousin, Abi, by drowning her. Alycia's mother disowned her and Alycia was imprisoned in a Young Offenders Institution. She was unpopular with the other inmates. She was assessed by many psychiatrists who all declared that she had a healthy mind and was rehabilitated. She was granted parole and placed in foster care, and given the new identity of Evie Prior.

Evie hoped Waterloo Road would be a new start for her, but things started to go wrong when she messed up her backstory. She quickly befriended Finn Sharkey, but left him furious when she lied about her mum dying of a brain tumour, as Finn's girlfriend Sambuca Kelly really was.

Confronted by Chris Mead, Evie told him who she really is, admitting to being a murderer, but begged him to keep it a secret. Chris initially agreed, but eventually revealed the truth to Karen Fisher.

When Evie was seen attacking Finn, Chris intervened, fearing what Evie might do. Furious that Finn called her pathetic, Evie told him who she really was and almost bragged about how she drowned her young cousin. With Finn telling all her classmates, Evie had no choice but to leave. Before she left, Chris told her that she 'deserved the second chance'.

The aftermath of Evie's confession left Karen with angry parents and staff to deal with. She was furious with Chris for not telling her about Evie sooner.
