The Behavioural Unit, commonly referred to as the BU, is a special unit at Waterloo Road High School used to help pupils with their poor academic performance in the mainstream or with their disruptive behaviour. It was set up by then-headteacher Kim Campbell at the insistence of her deputy, Lindon King.

History[]

It makes it first appearance in Series 11 Episode 2, when Danny gets into a fight with Dean and they get sent to the unfinished Behavioural Unit (BU) by Lindon and Joe.

In Series 11 Episode 4, Kelly Jo is disappointed to learn that she still has to spend time in the BU for damaging school property, earlier in the day.

In Series 11 Episode 6, Kelly Jo and Dean grow closer in the BU. While visiting Kelly Jo in the BU, Samia is irritated by male students commenting on her looks.

In Series 12 Episode 4, Kelly Jo has her first day out of the BU, as a trial to see how she will cope back in the mainstream school. She tries to stay out of trouble but when a fire happens caused accidentally by Dean, Kelly Jo extinguishes the fire and then runs away, until she encounters Joe in the corridor, to whom she says that she thinks she needs to go back into the BU.

In Series 13 Episode 7, Pete comes into school again for a meeting with the head, during which Schuey is sent to the Behavioural Unit (BU) for his part in the events of the previous episode.
