Annette Bentham is the mother of Karla Bentham, who was a student at Waterloo Road from Series 3 to Series 5.
She and Karla arrived at Waterloo Road to enrol Karla at the school. After Jack Rimmer read Karla's notes and found out that she'd moved school several times, he was concerned about taking Karla on, fearing she'd be a distraction to the other pupils. When Jack recommended going to a school for more challenging pupils, Annette said that Waterloo Road has the resources. Jack reluctantly agreed to take Karla on.
